The ETO Batch 7 Orientation was officially kicked off last April 14, 2023, at the Norwegian Training Center in Pasay City, the orientation was also attended by the sponsors and other guests via Zoom led by NTC’s own Johanna Maxine Peralta as the host. Started off by the Managing Director, Captain Jo Even Tomren as he welcomes the cadets with his opening remarks as they embark on their new journey with NTC. Followed by Captain Nebuchadnezzar Rabaya as he introduces the overview of the program, how it started, how many apply every year, and how competitive the program is.

NTC’s Head of Technical Research and Development, Chief Engineer Jose Fugoso then talked about the program’s course modules, training schedules, proper uniform, and requirements, while Engineer Emmanuel Se, the President of the ET Marine, gave a glimpse of old ETO cadets of NTC, where they are now, and some insights on what they should expect with life onboard.

Ms. Katrina Onoya-Perez explained the online interface NTC – LMS Platform for the cadets so they may be guided for their online training, and Ms. Stephanie Orcullo, a Corporate Services Staff of the HR & Admin department, discussed the obligations of the cadets in the program, their benefits during training, and their documentation & travel requirements. The orientation ended with the closing remarks of Captain Nebuchadnezzar Rabaya, as he reminded the cadets that life at sea is not easy, and this program is the start of one of their most challenging journeys yet.
