Class and Statutory Surveys Familiarization
This course is intended for Master & Chief Engineers, Deck & Engine officers, Ship Superintendents, as well as quality assurance personnel. It generally covers the framework, schemes, and requirements of class and statutory surveys & certification of ships. The lessons and instructions deal with the various types of surveys, their scope & intervals, and the processes involved, as well as contents & validity of the required certificates.
In addition, the course also covers guidelines for the planning, preparation and dealing with conduct of surveys & inspection on board.
The course refers to the requirements of relevant IMO Conventions, Codes, and other instruments and takes into account the industry standards & guidelines.
COURSE AIMS/OBJECTIVES:
The course aims to provide knowledge & practical
understanding of the framework, arrangements, and requirements of class and statutory
surveys & certification enabling participants to gain better and/or expand their
background of the survey schemes and ability to coordinate surveys efficiently.
