Assessment Program-Comprehensive Psychological Assessment

The Comprehensive Psychological Assessment (CPA) is intended for maritime officers and ratings. It is a specialized initiative designed to measure and understand the motivation and drive as well as impediments of seafarers in relation to their career progression and aspirations for promotion. This program encompasses a trio of assessment components:

  • Battery of Psychometric Tests: A comprehensive suite of tests that evaluate cognitive abilities, personality traits, and other psychological factors that are indicative of a seafarer's motivation and drive for career advancement.
  • Crisis Management Behavioral Assessment (Simulation): A scenario-based assessment that places seafarers in a simulated environment to gauge their actions and behavior that correspond to their capabilities and attributes in responding to complex situations.

  • Debriefing and Interview Session: Conducted by a Registered Psychologist, this session offers an in-depth analysis and discussion of a seafarer's simulation performance and rundown of psychometric test results. It provides a detailed review that delivers constructive feedback and insights with respect to seafarers’ motivation for career progression.

This program ensures a thorough and fair assessment of seafarer’s abilities, ensuring a well-rounded evaluation of their impediments and motivation for career advancement.
