This e-learning course is intended for marine engine & deck officers involved in the operations and management of bilge water treatment system onboard ships. It deals with regulations, system components, and operational methods for the proper handling, treatment, and disposal of bilge water & waste oil with emphasis on compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Describe and explain the operating principles of Oil Water Separators (OWS)
• Describe and explain the establishment of shore reception facilities for the prevention of pollution from ships
