FRAMO Operation and Preventive Maintenance


This FRAMO course is designed for deck and engineer officers duly tasked with overseeing the operation and maintenance of FRAMO Cargo Pumping System. The course practically consists of extensive lectures and practical instructions on the theoretical and technical design, principles, and operating mechanics of the system including its key operation and maintenance activities. 

This training course aims to provide theoretical and practical understanding of the principles, design, and operating mechanics of FRAMO Cargo Pumping system including its ancillaries. Those who shall successfully fulfill the course should be able to:

• acquire knowledge of pumping theory significant to the design and working mechanics of FRAMO cargo pumps

• acquired understanding on how to interpret and use FRAMO performance diagrams and viscosity correction diagrams;

• discuss the importance of FRAMO oil monitoring and explain the oil cleanliness aspect

• explain the fundamental concepts of hydraulics and the working principles of FRAMO hydraulic control system and the components therein, including the various safety features and emergency controls

• familiarize with and describe the functions of different control valves for the cargo pump; and

• describe the requirements for correct operation and maintenance of FRAMO Cargo Pumps.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT: Entry to this course is open to all Deck & Engineer Officers duly endorsed for FRAMO training.
