Liquefied Gas Carrier: Emergency Shutdown System


This course is intended for all ship’s officers and personnel engaged in Liquefied Gas Carrier operation. It is designed to provide refresher lessons and instructions on the functions, operational & system requirements as well as safety precautions intended for Emergency Shutdown (ESD) System as integral system components onboard liquefied gas carriers.

COURSE AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
The course aims to provide applied knowledge and technical understanding that shall enable participants to:

  • Acquire refresher lesson on “Golden Rules” of Tanker Practice
  • Explain the concept and implication of "Pressure Surge"
  • Discuss and analyze a certain ESD Operation/Activation Incident and be able to establish preventive measures to avoid repeats of such incident
  • Describe process for various ESD System Operation/Activation
