Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork with Bridge Resource Management
The course is intended for deck. It is design to meet the mandatory minimum training standard for the competence “maintain a safe navigational watch” particularly in bridge resource management (BRM) set forth in Table A-II/I and Paragraph 8 of Section A-VIII/2 of the STCW Code, as amended.
The course deals with the principles of BRM and review of ship handling principles including collision regulations. The training delivery combines well-structured theoretical instructions reinforced with workshops and practical exercises using a full-mission bridge simulator. This blended approach ensures a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
Further, the course duly accords with the IMO Model Course 1.22 (2023 Edition).
The course aims to provide knowledge and practical understanding of the principles & application of ship handling and effective bridge team & resource management to equip participants with the technical and non-technical skills to maintain a safe navigational watch and handle operational risks, in compliance with collision regulations and application of bridge resource management principles.
