Cadet’s Journal: A Beat for the Future
International Day of the Seafarer 2025

In celebration of this year’s International Day of the Seafarer, cadets from the NSA Cadetship Program stepped forward with a performance that goes beyond routine—a creative piece titled Cadet’s Journal.

Written by Joshua David Terania from the NSA’s 26th Batch and performed by cadets from the 27th Batch, this original rap offers a fresh perspective on the pace, mindset, and discipline shaped through cadetship.

From the lines “Gotta survive, gonna log it on my diary” to “Nothing in the outside world can bind me,” the piece reflects a generation that approaches maritime preparation with both structure and self-expression.

It is more than a musical piece—it is a statement of readiness. Of presence. Of clarity. Of what it means to take the first steps toward a life at sea.

As we recognize the contributions of seafarers around the world, we also highlight those preparing to carry the profession forward—with purpose, rhythm, and commitment.

Cadet’s Journal is not just a track. It’s a preview of the future.
